Two years ago, she had the world in the palm of her hand, but in one moment, it was ruined. Secrets, lies, and the worst imaginable betrayal haunt her new reality. Burying her problems under a cold façade seems to be the only way to cope until it all catches up with her. Soon, she loses control of the lonely world she built around her, and the past, present, and future collide.
Three guys are there when it all comes crashing down: JT, the perfect boyfriend she never wanted to give up; Rhye, the local bad boy “rock star” who made her forget the past; and Kane, the funny and sweet tattooed bartender who wants her future.
Secrets must be kept. Choices must be made. Is it possible to move forward while still chained to the wicked vices of the past?
So…OMG! Did it really just end like that?! I thought everything was kind of wrapped up and then BAM! I was completely caught off guard. I absolutely loved Ruining Me. It was overwhelmingly heartbreaking, angst-filled, and full of swoon worthy guys. I literally could not put it down and therefore ranked it at an emotional, suspenseful, and just overall amazing 5 stars.
James, or Jay as everyone refers to her, had her world turned upside down two years ago. Now, she is beginning her senior year of high school and is intent on keeping her secret held tight and pushing everyone away, including her best friends and now ex-boyfriend, JT. JT is a super hot football star that adored Jay when they dated. His world came to a stop when Jay suddenly started pulling away without any indication of why. Jay’s effort to hold her secrets tight has done more than pushed everyone away, it has made those she loves the most angry with her.
Dealing with the pain of what happened two years ago, Jay started partying and eventually dated Rhye, a super hot rockstar that can’t seem to get over the fact that Jay broke up with him. And last on this list of incredible guys pining for Jay is Kane, the super hot, older bad boy that she has instant chemistry with. I gotta tell ya, I wasn’t feeling too bad for her at first. Better-yet, I couldn’t figure out which I guy I wanted the most ( I mean I wanted her with the most *winks*). They were all amazing in their own way.
I completely sympathized with Jay even before I learned exactly what went down two years ago. It was obvious that she was just struggling to find a way to live. In fact, it was clear that living might not be what she decided in the long run. My heart broke for her so many times. She went through so much but really had no one to lean on and trying to decide which guy, if any, was best for her only complicated her life more. Each guy had something different to offer her, making it harder and harder for her to succeed in keeping her secret a secret.
This one had me hooked from the first page. I was immediately intrigued with Jay’s story. And now I am a basket case. Just when I thought everything was working out and decided that I was satisfied with it, the rug was pulled out from under me and I am still reeling. So, needless to say, I am racing to start Ruining You because I HAVE to know what happens. I highly recommend Ruining Me to all those that love angst, suspense, and emotionally charged story lines.
