After getting a college scholarship to play football, Chase heads off to school, hoping his time on the field will help to bury the intense emotions that still linger in his heart. Fate doesn’t work that way though, and he soon finds himself having to face all the things he’s carrying inside, or he may miss the one shot he has to learn how to love again.
***Please do not read if you have not read Chasing Nikki***
Finding Chase was a great 4 star continuation of Chasing Nikki. It picks up soon after Chasing Nikki ended. This one was not nearly as emotional for me as the first, which was a good thing because I just didn’t know if I could go through all of that again. It was still a touching story of learning to move on and love again after life’s tragedies.
Chase Walker is trying to find a way to move on after the death that he has recently experienced with two loved ones. He has made a vow to Nikki to try and make something of his life but he is having a really hard time finding the will to go on.
Trying to keep his promise to Nikki, Chase commits to play football at a nearby 4 year university. Luckily, his best friends, Brett, Brittany, and Tana also decide to attend the same college. These three friends become the greatest support system for Chase. They are always there with great advice and just overall genuine concern for Chase. Eventually, Chase starts to realize that his initial attraction to Brittany is still there. But, he doesn’t want lose himself in someone else just to end up with the same disappointment.
Joining Chase on his journey to learn to live and love again was emotion filled. I had fallen in love with him in Chasing Nikki and wanted nothing more than to see a happy ending for him. I really loved his friends in Chasing Nikki but fell further in love with them in this one, especially Brett and Brittany. Everyone needs friends like them. While there was still turmoil making this one steadily engaging, the major emotional events that happened in Chasing Nikki were not mimicked here. I really enjoyed this series and would definitely recommend it as an emotional, heartbreaking, yet encouraging YA tale of relying on loved ones to learn to live again.
